Title: Clinical Programs Manager

Supervised by: Executive Director of Marketing

Summary:  The Clinical Programs Manager is responsible for organizing and implementing clinical education programs as part of the company’s strategic plans and objectives.  This will include the development of education material, the presentation of such material, and the maintenance of the company’s continuing education offering.  Additionally, the position will provide clinical input in to the product development process with input gathered directly from current or potential customers as well as from their own clinical experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a clinical presentation plan based on key industry events such as domestic and international conferences and IDN summits
  2. Develop a business plan that offers Buffalo Filter clinical programs to facilities, integrated health networks, and partner companies and develop pricing for these programs
  3. Initiate, organize, and present Buffalo Filter education programs based on the clinical presentation plan
  4. Maintain the CEU offering that is part of Buffalo Filter’s portfolio ensuring it maintains its accreditation and the material is current and relevant
  5. Perform voice of customer activities based on direction of the Executive Director of Marketing and as dictated by the new product development process
  6. Provide ideas and input as to future company new product development and service programs
  7. Support product and program demonstrations to customers as necessary in conjunction with Sales
  8. Advocate company’s goals relating to regulatory reform and expansion through direct interaction with regulators to influence the need for future mandates or clarification of existing mandates
  9. Assist in obtaining reimbursement from payer’s for the company’s product offering through targeted interaction at a Federal and State level
  10. Act in the capacity of Clinical Review as it relates to the company’s regulatory requirements as needed
  11. Maintain an adherence to the department’s budget allowance for clinical activities
  12. Provide training to the sales team as required
  13. Provide input as to the strategic product direction and overall brand positioning of Buffalo Filter
  14. Maintain professional accreditations and certifications as applicable

Education & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 5 years experience as a registered nurse working in an operating room environment
  2. Demonstrated success in providing clinical and industry education events worldwide
  3. Preferred experience working with medical device community with expertise relating to new product development
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Proven ability to work within a team environment
  6. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  7. Must be able to travel 40 to 50% of the time including international travel

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • The position will primarily take place in an home office environment and within hospital facilities worldwide
  • Occasionally lifting of products and accessories required, typically less than 30lbs.
  • Must be willing to provide proof of, or receive the following immunizations required by the healthcare facilities we serve:
    1. Proof of MMR or documentation of having Measles, Mumps & Rubella
    2. Chicken Pox vaccination/titer or documentation of having Chicken Pox
    3. Hepatitis B  vaccination/titer or documentation of having Hepatitis B
    4. Tetanus/Pertussis/Tdap – proof of immunization
    5. Annual health exam with applicant’s chosen physician which must include PPD test (Tuberculosis Skin Test)
    6. Annual flu shot
  • Applicant must maintain current certifications in HIPPA Training (Privacy), Bloodborne Pathogens, and OR Protocol Training.  Other course material may arise as they become required by the company’s customer base.

Relationships:

  • Member of AORN and other professional organizations desired.
